Our Freakin' Awesome Story
The Freakin’ AWESOME! Wreath Company was born in Thornbury, On, when Dave, one of the co-founders, was building and maintaining local trails for hiking and mountain biking. To manage the creeping grapevines that were taking over the trails, he wound them into circular shapes. “Hmmm,” he thought, “these look like the wreaths my mom used to buy.” Dave, being more of an outdoor-sports-type dude, had never paid much attention to wreaths, but was struck with an idea, and took wound-up wild grapevine home to his creative girlfriend (and co-founder), Ashley. She loved them, and started decorating them with florals, greenery and handmade bows. The Freakin’ AWESOME! Wreath Co. was born and has been a super fun journey ever since.
The all-natural, organic materials in our Product of Canada items are ecologically harvested in a sustainable manner from Ontario forests recovering from deforestation. By sustainably harvesting select parts of the creeping vines, we allow the hardwood to thrive, and it results in a faster route to a healthier forest ecosystem.
